Greece - Poros Island

All courses are generally run in the Saronic and Argolic Gulfs where conditions are predictable and ideal for sailing. The base and starting point is on the island of Poros where the Poros yachting academy can also offer the RYA shore based and pre flotilla courses. During the course you will typically visit other islands such as Aegina, Angistri, Hydra and Spetsai as well as the attractive Peloponnesian coast.

Course cost: from £550 per person.

Courses run: from March through November, Saturday to Saturday

Training yachts: Sun Odyssey 37, Sun Odyssey 35 or Bostrom 35

Includes: Instructor, breakfast and light lunch, sleeping berth and bedding, waterproof clothing (when required), fuel, water, mooring fees, FREE RYA syllabus & Log Book, or RYA voucher to spend on further training.

Does not include: Flights & transfers to Poros Island, evening meals (clients are welcome to cook on board if they wish), towels

Turkey - Gocek

Sunny skies, warm turquoise waters, cooling breezes, deserted anchorages and tranquil bays are what you will find as you sail along the southern coast of Turkey. Combined with the warmth and sincerity of the people, spectacular scenery, and fascinating ruins from previous civilizations and delicious food - who could ask for more?

Courses run: May through October, Monday to Monday

TURKEY - Marmaris

Bowling along before the boisterous Meltemi breeze with a cloud of white sails above. This is the cruising life! Our routes can take you from Marmaris either to the Fethiye Bay Islands, the Hisarönu gulf of rugged mountain scenery and sweet scented pines, or the Gökova Gulf, of national park status, with a dramatic backdrop.

Gibraltar

Learn to sail in the Strait of Gibraltar where you can enjoy excellent sailing conditions all year round. With an exciting Straits sailing to Morocco in North Africa and both the Costa la Luz and Costa del Sol in Spain to explore, it really is a ‘cocktail’ of fascinating cultures.

Courses available: Competent crew, Day skipper (tidal), Coastal skipper (tidal)

Course cost: from £530 per person.

Course run: year round Monday to Saturday

Training yachts: Bavaria 38 (2004) or 38 foot Bavaria 36 or 37 (2005 or 2006)

Includes: 6 days sailing (Monday afternoon to Saturday afternoon), RYA tuition, bedding, lifejackets and safety harnesses, waterproof clothing, lunch and breakfast throughout, homemade evening meals with wine onboard for three nights, mooring fees, fuel
